In April PacTech co-hosted the Power of Wireless Technology luncheon with the Tri City Regional Chamber of Commerce. We were honored to have Jonathan Spalter of MobileFuture as our keynote speaker. Great piece by Carl Gipson of the Washington Policy Center on recent warnings from the World Health Organization about cell phones. Carl is Director of the Washington Policy Center’s Center for Small Business, and the Technology and Telecommunications Policy Project.

Entrepreneurship in the New Rural America

From the Flathead Beacon: In her recently published book, TheNewRural.Com, Whitefish (MT) resident Diane Smith writes that “in our challenging 21st century economy, the experts appear to agree that entrepreneurship is more important than ever.”

Smith also describes five fundamentals that allow for economic growth in rural areas. They are — mobile and wired broadband networks, virtual workers, remote health care, distance learning and access to capital. Read more.
